Sometimes it is good to understand some services NOT covered by Medicare.

On my blog I list some common misunderstandings concerning Original Medicare.

People new to Medicare are often dismayed to find out that routine dental care is not a part of Medicare.  Here are 12 things Not covered by Medicare.

  1. Prescription Drugs
  2. Routine dental care, most dental care or dentures
  3. Routine eye exams, eyeglasses or contacts
  4. Hearing aids or related exams or services
  5. Most care while traveling outside the United States
  6. Help with bathing, dressing, eating, etc. (custodial care)
  7. Comfort items such as a hospital phone, TV or private room
  8. Long-term care
  9. Cosmetic surgery
  10. Most chiropractic services
  11. Most acupuncture or other alternative treatments
  12. Routine foot care

Many of these items are covered by your Medicare Advantage Plan.  Before choosing an Advantage or Supplement plan, ensure you have a thorough understanding of Medicare itself. When it’s time to explore your options, don’t fall for a sales pitch from a single company or an agent representing only one provider.

At “More Plans More Choices,” I can provide you with side-by-side comparisons from various insurance carriers. More carriers plus more plans equals more choices.

My intention is to help make Medicare a little easier to understand.

Federal rules prohibit me from going into detailed plan information on this site. You can always contact me to talk about your situation. Again, there are rules, but we can talk about that later. For now, just browse my blog and let me know what you think.

Thank you.
