Ballad of the Traveler

When I was young I had a young man’s plan
I placed my steps on a reckless path
I saw good and bad and points in between
When I was young I lived a young man’s plan.

I am a traveler, I’ve walked the road
I’ve often carried a heavy load
Dirt and mud and cobblestone
I am a traveler, I’ve walked down many roads.

Now I am old, I have an old man’s plan
I place my steps on a narrower path
I seek to love with all I AM
Now I am old, I seek the Masters plan.

I am a traveler, I’ve walked the road
Though I no longr carry such a heavy load
I am yoked to Jesus from my head to toe
I am a traveler, I’ve walked down many roads.
